Fools Ruche In

One of the hottest trends in fashion right now is (and has been) ruching.  Ruching is the ruffle or pleat in fine fabric—once used only on collars and trimming, ruching has made impact on bodices, waists and other lines within a dress.  Ruching actually makes you look slimmer, which great within itself, but also adds unique lines to your gown’s overall design.

Dressing the Man

For the past few weeks, we’ve been featuring some of the best bridal designers and their new looks for the upcoming season.  Far be it from us to leave Mr. Fabuluxe out of all the fun.  Whenever Captain America and I go out or plan trips, it is always so much fun (and sometimes tiring, because trust me, honey, he can outshop me sometimes) to go with him to select his accessories or see him getting fitted.  I completely love how he will pick up something and say “This will bring out the [color] in the [article of clothing]”.  I know.  It’s all types of awesome.

So, I think of him as I write this post—his acute attention to detail and love of sophisticated style that every gentleman should have on his wedding day—no matter what his personality is.  There are so many ways to add some really luxurious details to your man’s look on the big day.  As long as he is not wearing an “extra medium” , I think we’ve pretty much have it easy.

Of course I had to share this beauty by Audemars Piguet, if not for anything else but  admiration purposes alone.  This bezel and bracelet boasts 456 baguette cut diamonds.  Ahem.  That’s 47.45 carats…in case you were wondering.  (I know, I caught the vapors, too!)

Do something special, too—something that will make him think of you as he gets dressed,  For example, even if he rents his tuxedo, have his dress shirt personalized with your monogram or soon to be initials.  You could even pick out (together, of course!) a special cologne for the wedding day.  Something you will find irresistible and alluring on him that he can only  wear on your wedding day.   Of course by now, you know your man’s likes and dislikes, so go through the extra effort to make sure that the groom feels special, confident and gorgeous on your wedding day.

Pepe Botella Novias

I simply adore the gowns of Pepe Botella!  I love the lush skirts, adorned bodices and very clean lines.

The gowns are the creation of Lucía Botella, Pepe Botella’s daughter.  What I love about the Spanish designer’s gowns is that with her gowns, she makes you feel that it is perfectly fine to be adored, desired, fashionable, classic, or demure on your wedding day. She captures the many emotions that a woman would feel or want to feel on her wedding day and adds a touch of fabulous to take it to the next level.  Viewing the different lines: Mediterranean, the Love Songs Bridal Book DUE, and other Party Books, you begin to look at her gowns as works of art than “mere” unioccasion wedding gowns.

Reva Revs Up Bridal Fashion

I am completely loving the new collection from Reva Mivasagar.  The designs are so light and soft, but  detailed enough to make impact.  His designs are described as “unique and cosmopolitan” that “symbolizes the individuality of the modern woman”.  It’s not too frilly, but can be if you need it to be.  It’s not too modern, but has feminine lines to add lush curves and touches that every woman wants to feel on her wedding day.  Feast your eyes on these gorgeous designs photographed by Mike Colon.

Monique Lhuillier: Setting the 2010 Runway on Fire

Monique Lhuillier is the bride’s best friend because she captures femininity, romance and style into all of her wedding dress designs. Looking at the designs that graced the runway for the 2010 show, it is good to see that Monique is not changing her style:

The skirt is fabulous—the soft roses and gentle “pleats”  are gorgeous and make statement without completely taking over.

Far less risky than the design above, this gown is equally beautiful.  The gentle lace, fine beading and ribboned waist are perfect for those with delicate frames.

The soft chiffon skirt of this wedding gown complements the beaded lace bodice of this gown beautifully.

The dual skirt of the wedding dress gives it modern impact—and I love the intricacies of the lace top.
