See Us on the Jekyll Island Blog!

As many of you know, I absolutely love where I live and work.  Surrounded by gorgeous islands and beaches, and so many other awesome parts of nature and history, it is a wonderful place to live.  I keep up with the happenings of all local wedding and event professionals with blogs and social networking.  The Jekyll Island Authority had a brilliant campaign on Twitter: a picture would be posted, and if you recognized where it was on the island, you would win a guest blogger spot on the official www.jekyllisland.com blog.  Having met so many beautiful couples and planned so many gorgeous destination weddings here, it was so nice to let everyone know why I love this area so much.  Check out our guest blog post on the Jekyll Island blog!

We’ve cracked open the vault to help you with your planning this wedding season!

This week’s download is a wedding accommodations planner.  If you are having a destination wedding or many out-of-town guests at your wedding, arranging blocks at nearby hotels is a very kind gesture.  When looking for different room blocks to reserve, make sure you consider the hotel’s price point to ensure that your guests have a place to stay that will be within their budget.  This wedding accommodations planner will help you keep track of hotel locations, the price and nearby attractions, dining, etc.

Enjoy and happy downloading!

Could You…Would You… With a Mouse?

image

I sooooo would. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday. And when I say “a mouse”, I mean “THE MOUSE”.

I, personally, tried to talk my sister in to having her wedding at Walt Disney World, but my new brother-in-law said that was a no go.  I think there is a major misconception about what a Disney Wedding would look like.  Even some brides have been less than enamored with the Disney Wedding Couture line that debuted recently.  I’m not quite sure as to why, as the collection is really well thought out and beautiful. They have even recently expanded in to bridesmaids and special occasion dresses as well as gorgeous accessories.   Some die-hard Disney fans said that the dresses looked nothing like the characters that were said to inspire the pieces, while other brides had a lackluster reception to them, professing “I would never tell anyone I wore a Disney dress”.  But overall, it was met with great excitement and positive feedback.

Quell your fears, luxelings. I don’t believe Disney is seeking to disfranchise your wedding or add it to its conglomerate.  I was really surprised (in a “Wow that is awesome!” thought versus the “Wow I can’t believe they came up with something this good” thought) at all of the offerings they make available to their clients.  The packages are really well thought out and designed with the each individual client in mind.  For example, let’s say you want something intimate and elegant– you can choose the Escape Collection and host the party of a lifetime for up to 18 people for an all inclusive price. If  you would like something larger and on a grander scale, the Couture Collection is for you.  I’ve heard a lot of brides and grooms say with a bit of snark, “I don’t want Mickey Mouse at my wedding” Come on! Do you think that Disney would sell out like that?  This isn’t Chuck E. Cheese….it’s Disney.  Remember these are the people that taught you about romance and made you want to get married. Granted, you were only five, but you get my point.  To further debunk this mode of thought, Disney has teamed up with David Tutera.  The magic doesn’t stop there either; you can do this on the Disney Cruise or even do a vow renewal there (Captain America is somewhere cringing at the thought tat I might ask, I am quite sure).   So in the event that I have opened your mind up a bit more, you can check out all of the different options and let me live vicariously through you.  At any rate there are many Disney fan sites where you can get first hand knowledge from other brides and grooms who decided to take the leap.  In addition to your research, be sure to visit those as well.

Hear Terrica on the Wedding Planning Audiocast

I was a featured guest on The Wedding Planning Audiocast. I had an opportunity to sit and talk with Ralph Mucci, the show’s host, and let him in on a little known secret– our great little islands!

Their guests to date have been some of the biggest names in the wedding world such as Colin Cowie, Marcy Blum, Jennifer Brisman, Michelle Rago, Ron-Ben Israel, Sylvia Weinstock, The Bridal Bar, & The Wedding Gown Specialists to name a few. These professionals have all offered such fantastic advice, tips, & secrets on wedding planning topics & issues, which is a wonderful asset to both professionals and brides.

They’ve also had on some of the biggest gown designers such as Watter & Watters, & Adele Wechsler, along with many many more. Their “You Look Marvelous” show segment which addresses hair, makeup, & skincare is awesome, because it doesn’t just reach out to brides but to all women, and being a women myself I love any beauty tips & advice that I can obtain. They’ve also had on some of the biggest names in the celebrity makeup world on such as Carmindy from the Learning Channel’s #1 hit show “What Not to Wear”, Sephora, Benefit Cosmetics, Mally Roncal, Elke Von Freudenberg, Billy B., & Shalini Vadhera. They just don’t seem to leave any stone unturned. Their shows are straightforward and right to the point, which is what I really enjoy about them, and they have some of the coolest music throughout their shows.

I recently had the pleasure to appear on their “Destination Wedding” show segment to inform their listeners about The Golden Isles of Georgia. These four islands– Jekyll Island, Sea Island, Little St. Simons, & St. Simons are all beautiful places if one is considering a destination wedding. I have orchestrated many destination weddings to these islands and all have been spectacular & memorable events. However most people aren’t aware of these islands and have been pretty much a well-kept secret up until now. On the show we inform the listener & cover all the elements and ingredients one needs to know if their considering a destination wedding one of these 4 emeralds. Without giving to much away about the show listeners will be very surprised to learn that one of the islands can be your very own if you choose.

Have a listen to the show! I had a great time, and Ralph even read a few of the New Rules!Have a listen to the show!
Be sure to subscribe, because like I said The Wedding Planning Audiocast has some great topics and wonderful guests on there!
Thank you, Ralph!
