St. Simons Lighthouse | St. Simons Wedding Venue
Anna and Spencer
There are so many gorgeous places to have weddings on St. Simons Island. One of the favorites among brides and locals alike is the Lighthouse and the A.W. Jones Heritage Center. Having your wedding at one of the area’s most notable landmarks can inspire your theme and images. With it being right at the water, you are able to get some really wonderful pictures that will last a lifetime.
If you are looking for a place that can host both your ceremony and wedding reception, this is a perfect venue. You have the option of using the nearby gazebo, the porch of the Keeper’s House or even the beautiful brick DeLong Courtyard. There are also lovely oak trees with the iconic Spanish moss that make for a memorable backdrop.

Once Like A Spark

Most couples opt to have their cocktail hours outside in the brick courtyard and on the surrounding porches facing the water. Gauging the time of year, position of the sun and tide, you can get a gentle breeze that makes the area very comfortable. Buffets are set up in the foyer of the Heritage Center in front of the gift shop (tip: serpentine tables make for a great, unique design and work well for double-sided buffets which get your guests fed quickly!).
Realistically, the ballroom can fit up to 100 people comfortably with space for a dance floor. Any overflow can be set up for guests to dine outside. There is a stage that is the perfect focal point for your sweetheart or head table, cake table or DJ.
All in all, it’s a great venue in a wonderful area that has nearby hotels, making it convenient for your guests to actually walk to the wedding ceremony and reception. You can bring in your own caterer and baker, which adds more flexibility for your planning.
Happy Planning!
