A lot of couples planning their weddings here ask what are popular months to get married on St. Simons or Jekyll Island– with our weather being milder than most, all months are great. However, outside of the typical wedding season during the summer months, April, October and early November are very popular due to the comfortable weather.
You can apply online for your marriage license with our county courthouse! It’s easy and cuts your in-person application time down in a half!

All of the resorts offer picturesque venues for your wedding. While some have exclusive catering rights, others allow you to bring in your own caterer and event team. Building your event team from the ground up allows you more flexibility and control in creating your event vision and maintaining your financial comfort zone.
While we’ve produced weddings that run the gamut in size, the average wedding in the area is between 90-140 people. Keep in mind the “10/20 Rule” when it comes to your guest list: anywhere between 10-20 percent of your invited guest list will send regrets. The number can be higher for destination weddings.
