Paper or Plastic?

Most of us do our shopping, come home put our stuff away and then what? Do you throw your bags away? or Recycle? Like most people you probably throw your bags in the trash and don’t give them a second thought.

Did you know less than six percent of plastics bags actually make it to the recycling bin?

But as there becomes more and more of an awarensess to “go green” people are finding easy ways to make a difference. For example these cute reusable bags by Envirosax.   • Each year, an estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide. That comes out to over one million per minute. Billions end up as litter each year.

  • According to the EPA, over 380 billion plastic bags, sacks and wraps are consumed in the U.S. each year.

  • According to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. goes through 100 billion plastic shopping bags annually. (Estimated cost to retailers is $4 billion)
