Weddings in Toile-light

Toile is becoming the next wedding sensation in the upcoming seasons. With the Baroque Marie Antoinette trend still going strong, toile is making one heck of a comeback. It is everywhere: your invitations, your linens, even your dress! What’s great about it is that it can be done in a sophisticated, yet modern way.

As you can see, it comes in different colors (black, blue, red, pink, and green) and several designs. Some toile is elaborate with its scenery and detail, while others consist of flourishes and floral design. With toile, the only thing that limits you is your imagination.

The Dauphine

I really liked Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.  I was also a huge fan of The Affair of the Necklace, as well. I was not all that surprised that both movies used the same fabulous costume designer, Milena Canonero.  I loved everything about those movies:  the lush fabrics, the delicious colors and ostentatious jewelry.  What came to mind while I was watching it?  Of course:  wedding sugar 🙂 LOL!  I kept seeing all types of things that would be wonderful to incorporate into a wedding.  So, that is the inspiration for this week’s storyboard.  Offset on vintage black and white toile with classic baroque elements in soft, blush pinks, we believe the queen would be proud!  Without further adieu…
