We are so proud to hear that local favorite, Beachview Tent Rentals has been nominated for an Event Solutions Spotlight Award. Those of us in the industry know what an honor this is—but for those who aren’t in the industry, in short: it’s a pretty big deal

If you’re former or current client of Beachview’s, a vendor that frequently works with them, or just an admirer of their work, please take the time (and spread the word!) to vote for them this year. Voting ends January 31st, so let’s work to get our fabulous, local rental company the worldwide recognition they so justly deserve!

elopement packages on st simons and jekyll island

We are happy to announce a brand new collection at Cocktails + Details:  Seaside Soirée.

Seaside Soirée is our new elopement collection on both Saint Simons Island and Jekyll Island that we are so excited about!  Our new luxury experience is a themed collection personally designed by Terrica Skaggs to showcase couples’ personalities and the beauty of the Golden Isles. This collection goes far beyond courthouse nuptials and cookie cutter packages, but includes a detailed custom design of fresh flower bouquets, locations, cakes and more.

Getting married on or near the beach is a popular choice on Saint Simons Island and Jekyll Island.  Seaside Soirée features a waterfront location, décor in complementary color palettes, as well as one fresh flower bridal bouquet, one boutonniere, a two tier beach inspired cake, delicious dinner for two and a two night stay at one of the area’s islands resorts. Upgrades are available for customization or extending the experience, which include honeymoons at sea on the beautiful Carnival Fascination ship out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Annie + Mike :: Faith Chapel | St. Simons Lighthouse Wedding

driftwood beach jekyll island wedding

Annie + Mike’s wedding just a ridiculous amount of fun.  It all started on Jekyll Island at the beautiful, historic Faith Chapel where one of their friends serenaded them during the ceremony.  The look on Mike’s face as Annie walked to meet him at the altar was unforgettable.  Annie was every bit of the classic beauty and was absolutely glowing the entire day, thanks to Mike and the incomparable James Grella of Image Artisans, who did her hair and makeup.

After the ceremony, the party began at A.W. Jones Heritage Center Museum on St. Simons Island.  Straton Hall knocked it out of the park with their champagne chicken and Heidi of Rosalee’s Flowery did a fantastic job of creating ambiance with fresh, citrus inspired flowers and hanging arrangements from the fixtures.  Island Sound had everyone on the dance floor all night—at the end of the night, they even went on to do an after party!

Tony and Lisa Harrell were AMAZING to work with.  This was my first time with them, but I know it will not be the last.  They were so much fun and easy going—capturing all of the tender moments.  A wedding planner’s dream 🙂  They took Annie + Mike out the next morning for a Trash the Dress session that was done so elegantly:

Now Showing: Real Jekyll Island Wedding Starring Ashaki & Embry

Jekyll Island Wedding at Jekyll Island Club Hotel Crane Cottage by Agnes Lopez Photography

Over the summer, we were so very honored and excited to finally produce an event that only held us spellbound creatively, but also emotionally.  Ashaki and Embry became more than just great clients over the course of our planning, but great friends (I miss them so! Thank heavens for Facebook!). The two were married at the beautiful historic Crane Cottage at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for an outdoor wedding and reception.  In addition to the great details that kept us sketching, bustling and literally enthralled, we had the opportunity to work with some of the best vendors like the phenomenal Agnes Lopez and Gay Whatley, as well as the outstanding band from Atlanta,  Excite and local favorite, Tommy Tucker of Dance Jammers who provided the tunes for the after party (which was a tribute to the great, late Michael Jackson and some how had a remix of Hava Nagila. I will never question the depth of Tommy’s music library, every again.  Ever.)  Our team was also fortunate to work with the ever so talented Christina Grimsley of In Motion Video Productions.

Christina provided us with the video that now is on the gallery of the FABULUXE website, but I wanted to take a moment and share it here so that you can see her work.  I cried during the wedding and I cried again when I viewed her awesome production of the video. It was like being there all over again—I know if I felt like that, Christina’s clients must feel the same way, and that is an awesome way to feel. I can’t say enough fabulous things about her so if you are in need of a great videographer, look her up!

As many of you know, I absolutely love where I live and work.  Surrounded by gorgeous islands and beaches, and so many other awesome parts of nature and history, it is a wonderful place to live.  I keep up with the happenings of all local wedding and event professionals with blogs and social networking.  The Jekyll Island Authority had a brilliant campaign on Twitter: a picture would be posted, and if you recognized where it was on the island, you would win a guest blogger spot on the official www.jekyllisland.com blog.  Having met so many beautiful couples and planned so many gorgeous destination weddings here, it was so nice to let everyone know why I love this area so much.  Check out our guest blog post on the Jekyll Island blog!

Is your wedding in Savannah, St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island or Jacksonville?  We would LOVE to work with you, and have you appear in our new promo video!

To celebrate our fabulous start to 2009, we are offering a free month of coordination package to a lucky couple getting married in our service area.  This isn’t your mother’s day of coordination! Good luck!

We Were Here.

We had a fantabulous time at the wedding show, yesterday at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. Half the fun was had in the set up and break down of the booth. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun on a Sunday– but my girlfriends are awesome!

Abby, Lindsay and Streater– Thank YOU for a fantastic show, your hard work and fabulousness. You are exactly what fabuluxe is 🙂

Getting ready for show time

This is Lindsay ALL day long. She is just hilarious. We forbade her from making ANY predictions for the show. Linds has the ability to say “What if…” or “Wouldn’t it be funny if…” at the rehearsal or setup during the day of the wedding…and it actually happens. Lindsay is uber creative. Just ask her about the bucket of flowers she got during a wedding we had.

Abby Setting Up the Cocktail Tables

Abby is also hilarious. I can’t publicly post what she said on Sunday that made me fall out on the floor laughing…but she is awesome. I can explain an idea to Abby and she makes it happen.

Streater Setting Up the Main Table

This is our new intern, Streater. Cutest name ever. I think we’ve officially found our “sweet one” (because Lord knows it wasn’t me). Streater was great at the show and was able to keep up with us. Prayerfully, we haven’t scared the poor girl.

Fabuluxe Bridal Show Setup

Here we are….all done and ready for show time!

Another view of our booth. You couldn’t miss us– as soon as you walked in the convention center, you had our wedding sexy in your face colors right before your eyes. It was great because so many brides said, “We just KNEW it was you because your booth looked just like your ad!”

Our Cocktail Table

One of our cocktail tables, beautiful matching guestbook (a gift from my most special girlfriend, Precious. I owe Precious everything. She listened to me pine and moan over this setup!)

Our main table… That candelabra is another sweetie from Precious. It rocks to have friends with awesome taste! Our brochures sat in a tray of crystals 🙂

Straton Hall's Booth

This is Straton Hall‘s setup. UBER gorgeous. The food was actually presented BEAUTIFULLY– suspended from their booth. So weddingsexy 🙂

Straton's Fabulous Food

Here is one of the suspended areas of their booth– this was the best pecan chicken salad ever. How cute are the little bowls?

My fabbies. How cute are they!?

James and me

Me with the fabulous James Grella of Image Artisans, Inc. You have heard me talk about how wonderful James is. But here is the sad but true part…James didn’t even recognize me when I was all dressed up. He’s so used to seeing me in “prep mode” for weddings, that he doesn’t see the rockstar come show time.
