Photo from Reghan + Kristian’s Wedding Blog

How much would you love to be serenaded at your wedding by a very romantic singer/songwriter who happens to have spent time in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and has had songs featured on television shows like Private Practice, Bones, So You Think You Can Dance, and Army Wives?

Decca Records and Brendan James have partnered up with to give one lucky couple the ultimate wedding singer experience. All you have to do is submit a video that expresses your love using one of his songs (think proposal, save-the-date, slideshow for your wedding). Five finalists will be selected and then everyone will have a chance to vote for their favorite over on‘s Facebook page.

Brendan’s self-titled sophomore effort was released in September on Decca landing at #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and remained in the Top 15 Overall Albums amongst artists such as Justin Bieber, Brandon Flowers, Kings of Leon and Sara Bareilles. He also debuted in the Top 100 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. To coincide with the album release, Brendan hit the road with headlining shows as well as supporting popular pop band Parachute and Grammy-winning singer Paula Cole.  He is now back on the road on a national tour with fellow sing-songwriter Matt White.  Visit his official site for tour dates and more info:

Check out Brendan’s music video for his single "The Fall"featuring Melissa Ordway (The Last Song, 17 Again) and Amber Stevens (ABC’s Greek):

Full contest info is here. And, the contest ends 2/15/11, so get video-ing!

Good luck!

I Want A Wedding Like…Rebecca Romijn

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell celebrated their wedding with a surprise ceremony in July of 2007. The intimate ceremony was followed by a beautifully casual reception with friends and family.

What she did…

Rebecca was married at her own home, a ranch in LA, surrounded by gorgeous trees. When the sun went down the trees lit up the reception as lanterns hung from them.

What you can do…

Beautiful outdoor locations, such as this one at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, are the perfect place to have the intimate celebration you’ve always wanted. The romantic lighting and tree cover only enhance the beauty of your wedding.

What she did…

The bride wore a beautiful Ralph Lauren gown the whole evening. This dress what perfect for her. Rebecca’s day was about celebrating and this dress was gorgeous and comfortable, which allowed her to dance and celebrate all night.

What you can do…

Find a dress that you love. This Alice Padrul gown is amazing! It is absolutely gorgeous and it is perfect for celebrating all night on the dance floor.

Choose a bouquet that pops. The deep red of the berries in this bouquet with the addition of the yellow and the soft greens are amazing! Instead of berries you could add jewels for opulence.

What she did…

Rebecca decided that instead of a wedding cake, she would serve two different kinds of cupcake. This spread looks delicious.

What you can do…

Two words: crème brûlée! These mini crème brûlée with the addition of fresh blueberries and a sprig of mint are to die for. This dessert will be a true hit. If you aren’t willing to give up the traditional cake this dish can be a delicious addition to your dessert table.

What she did…

Late in the evening, the sparklers started to light up the reception as guests had them at each table. I love how the trees have been used for lighting with the paper lanterns strung between them allowing the trees to create a natural shadow effect.

What you can do…

Floating lanterns started at celebrations as a way to make a wish and watch it float up into the sky. These lanterns create an amazing visual effect in the sky if they are all released at the same time. Lanterns are a fun thing for guests as well as a great alternative to fireworks. My favorite thing about these lanterns is that they are 100% biodegradable and safe.

Karl Lagerfeld Knows How To Party!

“Arch your back!” he yelled, slamming his foot on the floor.

“Now, stick out your hip”

Sighing, he says ” Ok, flex your abs, elongate your torso”

Done. I felt like I was in a body cast.

“Now, take your first step…cross your feet. Don’t look at the floor! No! No! No!”

That was a scene from my late night sessions with my agent, Christian with Nova Models. I loved my sessions with Christian and Michael because I learned so much. But squeezing your butt cheeks so that they can hold a dime while walking is not something I can put on a resume. So, you can imagine my utter shock and amazement with Lagerfeld’s models did a show on the Great Wall of China in stiletto heels. MY GOD.

The Lagerfeld/Fendi show from all accounts, was amazing. I mean really– the man put on a show on one of the 7 wonders of the world. (guests were advised to wear flats because of the steep elevation…hardly any did. Gotta love fashion! I broke my neck, but dammit, look at my shoes!) I love him!

Karl’s line was amazing– 88 looks, including a mini collection that served as a tribute to the host city itself, were very simple in color but the cut and design were tres luxe.

Then the gorgeous Du Juan came out in the pièce de résistance a gorgeous black empress styled cheongsam gown. BEAUTIFUL! As Liene has told us several times, if you want to see the trends in wedding “culture”, you should follow the trends in fashion.  Just look at this black and white wedding dress.   I’ve seen it all that I think are going to be big hits– from the baroque gilded makeup cases from M.A.C., the jewel tones by Sephora to these simple black and white elements with a dash of red to make it HOT….I think we will see these next year.

Each guest was given fur handwarmers and sat on heated seats. Hint hint to those of you who want chilly outdoor weddings. After the show, Karl had his guests given stylish hot chocolate or brandy. (What would you pick?) He then bused his guests to the Beijing Mall For the party, he enlisted the help of a laser graffiti artist and dancer.

Aahhh the life.

Oh and Christian, I still think you’re the best– especially since you never made me do a show on the Great Wall of China in stilettos.
