Take A Seat

p3_11.jpg
I saw these GREAT chair covers over at INSIDE Weddings and thought they were the best wedding sugar I’ve seen in a while.  These decor hotties are from Wildflower Linen— the handbeaded designs accentuated with satins and silks are a great way to add to the experience of your event.  These linens are actually designed for the Chameleon Chair.

Everyone typically does linens and opts for chair covers and a simple sash, or they decide “to Chiavari”.  It can get boring after a while.  So what do you do to add a little life to your bottom? Shoot for texture or go sheer.  Add other elements such as flowers, garlands, chair pads, etc. to bring out some UMMMPH!

Even if you just opt to do a different chair, this too could add a lot of substance and flavor to your event. So be sure to check out Chameleon Chair!

The Long and Short of It

Feeling hot, hot, hot?  Some of the hottest gowns for next season are short, tea length styles. While the cut whispers, “yesteryear”, the gorgeous designs scream “COUTURE“.  Whether the dress is a sultry ivory or a diamond white, you can find your personality in these new trendy designs that are the rage of all the bridal fashion houses.

Melissa Sweet

Stephanie James Couture  tea length line does a fabulous job of capturing the glamour and beauty of the past while infusing the lines and personality of today.  The line varies from innocent to sexy and demure to alluring. Going tea length can not only shave off your hemline but also dollars off your budget.  Several retailers such as JC Penney, Target, and David’s are starting to carry these new styles in their stores.

Paired with the right accessories and for the right time/season, you can create a gorgeous look that is all your own!

Bride and Bloom Anniversary Party

Thanks to the Bridal Bar for this scoop!

One of my favorite b-mags (bridal magazines, if you’re not fluent in Terrica) is The Bride and Bloom.  If you are looking for truly innovative and gorgeous design ideas, you have to get a subscription NOW. Do not pass go and collect $200. Right Now!

They celebrated their first anniverary party, and who was the guest of honor!?  No, not me…but maybe soon :)  But his fabulousness himself, none other than Preston Bailey!

How cute are those cookies and milk shooters?  Perfect if you have a lot of kids in your guest list during cocktail hour!

The centerpieces just look so Preston, so I could immediately tell he either put his magic touch to it or was there in the near vicinity!  Hope these inspire you!

Meet Me at the Bar!

I just stumbled across a great blog recently, The Bridal Bar.

Even though the Bridal Bar site is a resource site for events in sunny California, you can still get great ideas and tips from their blog.  The blog is hip to all of the event happenings in LA and surrounding areas, so if you are looking for that celebrity styled event, you are at the right spot!

Way to Go, Khris!

Many of you know how much I heart Khris Cochran of DIY Bride.  She is a phenomenal talent and I will go even as far to say she’s a creative genius.  Khris gave a sneak peek of the cover of her new book this week, and it is just too cute!

If you haven’t checked out DIY Bride yet, I don’t know what’s wrong with you or what’s taking you so long!  I’ve only been raving about her for like. EVER 🙂

www.diybride.com is a great community full of ideas, tips and news on how to make (literally) your wedding fantastic.  There is even a community there for you and other fellow brides to share ideas.

 Enjoy!

Martha! Martha! Martha!

She’s at it again, ladies and gentleman!  Martha Stewart recently launched www.marthastewartcrafts.com, unleashing a creative fury that is sure to set your DIY dreams ablaze!

With creative ideas such as favor boxes (seen at the right with the cute little tissue flowers), heirloom tags, place cards, and other crafty items that you can leave with your imagination.  These products are available online as well as in  the retail craft store, Michaels.

For more great ideas, check out what Martha has in store for you for your wedding or shower:

Rollback the Wedding Dresses

As you may (or may not) have heard, your local stores are now carrying bridal fashions.  That’s right–say goodbye to David’s Bridal and boutiques. Journey right on down to your nearest Target or Ann Taylor  (featured left) for your wedding garb.  We recently discussed the new trend of retailers carrying bridal gowns when H&M released their wedding gowns to the public.

Depending on your budget (or the budgets of your bridal party), this could be a plausible option for you.  Keep your eyes peeled… word on the street is that Vera Wang may be next with her own retail line of dresses!

Get A Little Good Fortune!

Back on the edible favor tip…if you are looking for a sweet way to thank guests for coming out, check out Good Fortunes.  They have an array of  fortune cookie and other edible favors that are just adorable!  Your fortune cookies even come with your very own message!  How sweet is that :)
