Signature Drink Ideas with Avion Tequila

Are you the lover of a tequila and want to incorporate it into your wedding’s menu? You will absolutely love Avion Tequila. It is smooth and is well complemented by other mixers to create the finest signature drink for your cocktail hour. With Cinco de Mayo coming up, it is a great opportunity to give these a test run!

The After Party

Ingredients:

1 cup Avión Silver
1 bottle sparkling wine
2 cups lemon lime soda
1 orange
2 limes
1 pear cut into small pieces
½ cup raspberries

Method:

Squeeze juice from half an orange and half a lime into the pitcher. Add ice to pitcher and Avión. Gently pour in sparkling wine and soda (so as not to diffuse all the bubbles). Stir gently and top with pear and raspberries. Serve in wine glasses.

Here Comes the Bride

Ingredients

2 Sweet Strawberries
¾ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz. Agave Nectar
2 oz. Tequila Avión
2 oz. Dry Champagne

Method

Muddle strawberries in a shaker; add the remaining ingredients (except Champagne) in the shaker. Shake vigorously and then finely strain into a Champagne flute or coupe. Float 2 oz. dry Champagne on top and garnish with strawberry slice.

Something Blue

Ingredients

1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1 oz Tequila Avión
1 oz Fresh lime juice
2 oz. Dry Champagne
mint leaves
1 cherry

Method

Build all ingredients (except Champagne) in a shaker. Shake vigorously and then finely strain into a Champagne flute or coupe. Float 2 oz. dry Champagne on top and garnish with cherry and mint.

Signature Drinks for Your Wedding by Color: Purple

The Purple Matthew

Ingredients
2 oz. Absolut Kurant
1 oz. blueberry syrup
Soda water

Method
Stir the vodka and blueberry syrup with ice. Strain into a long drink glass filled with ice cubes and top up with soda water.

1 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve Rum1 Muddled Fresh Blackberry
0.5 oz. Pom Wonderful Pomegranate Juice
1 oz. Massanez Cream De Mure
1 oz. Whipped Fresh Cream
Cinnamon Grated on Top
Garnish: 3 Blackberries and Cinnamon Dust

Method:
Muddle the blackberry; add all ingredients except the heavy cream; shake and strain into wine glass top with fresh whipped heavy cream; garnish and dust with cinnamon.

1 part Vodka

Method
Mix ingredients together with ice, add to a Collins glass.

2 oz sweet and sour mix
2 oz Chambord® raspberry liqueur
1 oz Rose’s® lime juice
1 oz cranberry juice

Method
Mix in a shaker with ice, strain and add to martini glass.

I am so excited to see this in action at our wedding this weekend! Our bride wanted something fun, different but completely useful and functional as their wedding guestbook. We toyed around with some great concepts and ideas, and I really love the one she settled upon: Wine Bottle Guestbook!

Your wine bottles are displayed upon a table where your guests can sign a bottle of their choice. Your wine is then stored in your new home, to be opened on your 1st, 5th, 10th, 20th wedding anniversaries! I love this uber sweet concept and hope that it picks up more for other weddings.

For the past week, I’ve been on a new regimen from Sensai, which is sure to get you HD camera ready for your wedding day! I received samples of the SENSAI Hydrachange TInted Gel Cream ($78) which is DIVINE. I have always been a fan of tinted moisturizers for their lightweight, dewy finish that they produce. This is especially perfect for destination weddings in our area (especially St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island), where there is a tremendous amount of humidity. It balances the skin’s natural hydration levels and color without streaking, melting or crumbling while providing the coverage you need. I had been working on my complexion for a while and had a few breakouts, but I think this is perfect for clear complexions or those with minor imperfections that can be camoflauged with light applications of concealer. I have yellow undertones, so the Almond shade was absolutely perfect when it blended in. It will be available in April 2011, so that is right around the corner.

I thought that the mask would tear and would be really fragile since it is fairly thin and soaked in the moisturizers. However, it was surprisingly tear resistant and strong!

:: The Peach Bourbon Smash ::

We’re all for a good cocktail, especially a nice Southern cocktail for a signature drink!

We received a beautiful bottle of Makers Mark to sample, and WOW! Makers Mark is a Kentucky bourbon with a soft, smooth flavor—what is so special about Makers is that the flavor stems from the root of winter wheat in the mash as opposed to rye.

You would expect bourbon to be hard; but this smooth, full bodied and very flavorful. I love the bottle, which looks like melted wax own the sides; I almost was sad to break the seal. FYI, Makers Mark has a wonderful rich history of being a family owned distillery and that unique wax seal is created by hand. Each bottle is hand dipped!

Known as “the” bourbon for young sophisticates, it’s good clean, and in my opinion, very good mixed in a cocktail. I enjoyed it in a whiskey sour and also loved it in this great Southern Cocktail:

Bourbon Peach Smash

Muddle 2 pieces of fresh Georgia peach, 2 lemon pieces, and 2 to 3 mint leaves in 1 ounce of simple
syrup in the bottom of a mixing glass
Add 2 ounces of Maker’s Mark Bourbon and shake
Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice
Garnish with a mint sprig

If you ever get a chance to try it, you will definitely like it– even if you aren’t a boubom
